It's been a great month. Mainly I spent time taking my beautiful daughter on tours of College Campuses here in Colorado. We have a few more then she gets to make her decision. Of course that means I didn't have a lot of time to play.

Update on my DYK for May.  Great news, Bullseye has installed the equipment needed and will have all the upgrades by August. Sadly still no manufacture has come forward to take over spectrum's fusers reserves, which is sad. I wish someone would make the fusers reserve because it's so pretty.

BTW I'm still going to do the free fused glass pendant for anyone that tells me about a unique idea for a DYK as explained in my January Newsletter (an excerpt is below).

Since it’s a new year I thought I’d open it up for recommendations. In fact, I’m going to reward those with  unique DYK recommendations with a  fused glass pendant ($20 or less).   If you have a question about glass that you want me to do a DYK article just email me at elegantfusedglass@gmail.com There’s no limit to how many topics you can recommend, however it has to be a topic I haven’t written a DYK about already and it has to be in keeping with fused glass or jewelry.   If I use your DYK I will send you a handmade fused glass pendant ($20 or less).

(It should go without saying but I'll say it anyway,  I have the right to choose which DYK recommendations are acceptable to receive a free fused glass pendant!)

Fused Glass Painted Mantle Sconces

Fused Glass Painted Mantle Sconces

This weekend I was able to try something I've been wanting to do for quite some time, Painting on glass. This paint is different than normal fused glass painting, it is pebeo paint. It goes on after all the fusing is complete and then baked in an oven to set the paint and make it permanent. I fused the pieces …Read more.

Fused Glass Drop Vases

Fused Glass Drop Vases

A few years ago I took a class and learned how to create fused glass drop vases. I really enjoyed the class and made 2 beautiful vases. Problem is when I got home I made a couple but broke them when I cut the rim off. So I bought an ebook and still broke …Read more.

Photo's of My Fused Glass to get into Shows

Photo's of My Fused Glass to get into Shows

In order to do well in the art community you have to get into shows. The best shows are typically juried.  To get into those shows you have to have great photographs. The jury looks at the pictures to decide what handmade items are the best and allowed into the show. Now I have a little station in my "show …

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to include.

This month's did you know is to talk a little about my different  fused glass web sites. Most of my customers I meet at my shows, however, I do have 4 sites I sell my fused glass on.

• my main website Elegant Fused Glass by Karen (www.elegantfusedglassbykaren.com)

• my Etsy shop (https://www.etsy.com/shop/GlassJewelrybyKaren)

• my artfire shop (https://www.artfire.com/ext/shop/home/fused_elegance_glass

• my original website (http://fused-elegance-glass-jewelry.com)

BTW you can access all of my sites via my main website Elegant Fused Glass by Karen (www.elegantfusedglassbykaren.com).

Just a reminder all of my fused glass pieces are one of a kind, handcrafted art pieces; I can try to make something similar but no two pieces are exact.

---

My Elegant Fused Glass by Karen website is my main site. I'll be working on it in July to add more fused glass artwork. As anyone who comes to my shows I have so much more fused glass than I have on my sites. Even though it may not have as many fused glass items as I'd like my blogs and newsletters are on there and they are easy to access. If you see a fused glass piece that you'd like you can always email me at elegantfusedglass@gmail.com

---
fused glass blogs

The best way to access my fused glass blogs  and newsletters is to go to the bottom of the home page and select blog archives, click the down arrow and then you can see all my fused glass blogs by month. You can also locate them by topic or you can go to the search box and type in a word and click search.  This is actually how I search for blogs when I'm looking for something specific as well.

---
Fused glass websites

Once you are off the home page (by doing the above or by clicking shop, select any item, then on the right side of the page (you may need to scroll down)) you'll find my other sites. Just click on the link and it will take you right there.  BTW I also have a youtube channel that can be accessed on the right hand side as well. I haven't done a lot of the youtube videos because I was making them for my customers but other glass artists were using them instead.  The problem is that wasn't the purpose so it's been a little confusing.

Fused glass on Etsy

One of the first sites I was on is Etsy. I pay for each item that's listed which is why I don't have too many.  I try to keep 100 items on there but I do need to add some more. Again my goal is to add items NLT Aug 1st.

---
bullseye

I also show my fused glass on Art Fire.  Art fire is just 1 charge each month with no real limit but again I try to keep it to 100 items. Obviously I need to add a few more on Artfire as well, again my goal is 1 Aug.

Fused Elegance Glass

My original Fused Glass website. I like this site but I like my new one better so I'm trying to phase this one out so it probably won't be around much longer, especially once I get my other site updated. There is some really good blogs on there and other items. One thing is for sure it is NOT updated. I'm not sure how to handle the transition.  If you have any recommendations I'm willing to listen. I just hate to shut it all the way down because there is a lot of information on the site, we'll see.

---

I hope you like learning about my various sites.  Something to always remember is I love making custom work as well. If you need something custom made, just email me (elegantfusedglass@gmail.com)

Keeping my kilns warm,

Karen
