During my trip to Portland for my bullseye workshop I also went to a Uroboros factory. I'll be honest I didn't know anything about Uroboros until I took this tour. Ken was extremely helpful and so was Carmen. Ken gave us (there were 3 of us) a tour of the factory. He also explained what …Read more.

While in Portland I also visited Aquila Art Glass studio. I met Don, one of the owners. He was very gracious and showed me his working studio. Not only do they teach fused glass they also teach flameworking. More than teaching Don, Tammy (his wife), and his other partner Scott produce …Read more. *The picture is of my friend Kate and Scott.

One thing about me is I like to check a place out before I truly commit. I did that with Leslie (of course it only took me minutes to decide she was amazing), I did that with Aquila, and I did that with Live, Love, Laugh glass. Live, Love, Laugh glass is a mixed studio …Read more. *I may look like I'm bored but I'm having a blast

When I was at Bob Leatherborrow's workshop in Canada earlier this year I had the opportunity to use a wet-belt sander. I must say I loved using it for the edges of bowls and plates. Bob gave us some pointers to make it even easier so I really wanted one. A couple months ago when my friend Paul retired, he …Read more.

If you would like a ring changed to sterling silver there is an extra fee but it can be done. I also have fused …Read more.

This DYK is a little different. With all the Christmas shows coming up I thought I'd show ya'll the myriad of different types of Fused Glass Art work I make through some of the videos I've done. When most people think of Fused glass they think of jewelry, but jewelry is just one aspect of my fused glass art work. Don't get me wrong I love jewelry and I especially love fused glass jewelry because it can be simple and elegant or glitzy or I have some pieces that look like stone. Most fused glass artists have 1-5 techniques of jewelry. For my fused glass jewelry I create over 50 different types of techniques and I have learned from some of the best teachers in the world. In fact, I'm so excited to take a class with Ms Patty Gray, a fabulous fused glass artist that has been on my bucket list since I started fused glass. Anyway I digress. My point is to show you some of the options you have this season for fused glass gifts. I haven't made any YouTube videos in a while because I've been so busy but here are some of my favorite videos that highlight some of my fused glass art work. If you have any questions Please let me know (elegantfusedglass@gmail.com)
This video shows a sampling of my fused glass artwork including functional fused glass, jewelry, and fused glass artwork. *I like this program because I like adding the music and how the pictures fly in and out.
This video highlights my fused glass Security guards and fused glass purse hangers. Both make perfect gifts for the women in your life. *I've got to remember to take a quick pic before I start the video because all the still shots in the video are a little blurry to use as an image. This is just one of my fused glass purse hangers.
This is one of my favorite videos because it shows my beautiful night lights, sconces, and votives. Matter of fact I’m working on my 3rd custom orders (2 were night lights and the other was a sconce). All so pretty and add beautiful glass art to any room. *I've made several more night lights and sconces that are truly beautiful. Come by one of my shows to see them in person!
This video highlights some of my fused glass clocks. I love fused glass clocks both art and functional combined. BTW this picture doesn't come close to showing off this stunning clock! * Something you may not know is if you see one of my fused glass plates or bowls that you like, chances are I can make it into a clock.
This is a great video because it shows some of the possibilities of fused glass gifts for men, including poker guards, cuff links, knives, tie tacks, etc. * I don't always bring all my fused glass tie tacks / lapel pins, so if you want to see them please let me know (elegantfusedglass@gmail.com).
This video is interesting because it shows how recycled glass can be fused or slumped into functional items or jewelry. *I love recycled glass it makes beautiful jewelry and bowls.
This video highlights my fused glass snaps. These are a lot of work but I enjoy making and wearing these. In fact, tomorrow I'll be making some new ones, so if snaps are what you like I'll have some new ones for my shows.
In addition to showing off my fused glass artwork. I have also made a couple of videos explaining certain aspects of fused glass i.e., a simple but elegant way of creating fused glass and what decals are and how they are applied.
This video shows the various types of decals and how they are applied. * sorry the picture is blurry - at least the video isn't!
This video shows two basic fused glass techniques using textured dichroic glass that is still one of my favorite techniques because of the colors it creates. * sorry the picture is blurry - at least the video isn't!
If you would have something fused glass related that you would like me to explain via video or blog please let me know (elegantfusedglass@gmail.com).
