Possible Fused Glass Classes for 2024

Possible Fused Glass Classes for 2024

I just finished writing my DYK section for my Fused Glass newsletter and one of my goals is to have more classes this year. So, I went through my website and looked for projects that can be done in 1 class (I'll fuse and then slump if required). Below are some of the Fused Glass classes I do give now. …Read more.

More Fused Glass Pocket Hearts

More Fused Glass Pocket Hearts

I've written numerous posts about fused glass hearts and hopefully you don't mind. I love making casted fused glass because they are fun and relatively easy to make. I love giving them away and teaching people how to make them. For Christmas I gave these away to my friends. I've also been playing around with the best way to fire …Read more.

Fused Glass January 18th Class

Fused Glass January 18th Class

In my December Newsletter I mentioned that I've changed jobs. This is germane to this post because now I won't be going TDY (business trips) as much; therefore, I am going to have more classes each month (3 or 4). Just like my Valentine's Couple's class, I opened this "Your Choice" class to my neighbors. Needless to say, they came …Read more.

Fused Glass Couples Valentines Class

Fused Glass Couples Valentines Class

In preparation for Valentines, I held a couple's class in January 2024. Sadly, we had a cold snowy weekend so only 1 couple was able to attend. The 3 of us had a blast! What a wonderful and friendly couple. A bit of background, typically I only post my classes in my Fused Glass Monthly Newsletter. However, I didn't have …Read more.

A Myriad of Fused Glass Vases

A Myriad of Fused Glass Vases

When preparing for a new fused glass class I always make sample pieces. It helps me give my students options and it lets me verify the firing schedule. Fused glass vases (especially large ones) can be tricky to drape. Here are some of my fused glass examples. These first 2 are made with fused glass dots. These two made with …Read more.

Fused Glass Casted Bears

Fused Glass Casted Bears

I love making fused glass bears, they are bigger than my casted hearts. I recently made a few more and wanted to share them with you. Each one is beautiful. They are a bit difficult to display, however here are just some ideas. They can also just be by themselves as poker guards or just desk sitters. They are a …Read more.

Fused Glass Coral and Lattice Technique Class

Fused Glass Coral and Lattice Technique Class

I'm plan on offering a class with the following techniques. For this class because they are bigger pieces, I think 3 (max 4) students is best. If you would like to sign up for this class let me know. Once I get 3 students, we can set a date. Please email me if you are interested elegantfusedglass@gmail.com. There are so …Read more.

Prepping for Valentine Class

Prepping for Valentine Class

When I conduct a fused glass class, I typically create samples for inspiration. Sometimes my examples are what to do and sometimes it's what not to do. For my Valentine couple's class, I made several samples. Here are the little fused glass dishes I created for class. I do wish my penmanship was better. Below are the art pieces I …Read more.

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to discuss.  Each January I write a DYK regarding how well I accomplished previous year's goals and what I want to do in 2025.

---

In 2024 I did really well at cleaning my studio, as with 2023 mainly it's because I keep it picked up for my classes. That being said I didn't take the time to go through each box and shelf and clean things out. Hopefully I'll do better in 2025 about cleaning somethings out.

---

Make glass projects using video tutorials I’ve purchased. In both 2024 and 2023 I did horrible on my tutorials. I only did 2 in 2024 and 1 in 2023.

---

Here are some of the new molds I got in 2024 and didn't use them.  I want to use these molds soon - maybe in February.

I did use this beautiful mold and of course I made several hearts using my heart molds and quite a few doggy paws.

---

I gave 15 classes this year! WOW I'm so happy to share my love of glass with all those students. Last year I only gave 6 classes! What an increase.

Here are more classes I gave in 2024. Such a variety of classes.

Here are two more classes I taught during 2024.

What classes do y'all want me to teach? Please let me know.

I also taught 3 classes at Festiviteas! I don't have any scheduled so far this year.

---

I had 6 production orders in 2024. Thank you so much for my commercial customers!!

I love making fused glass pieces for hotels and restaurants.  I hope I make more commercial pieces this year.

---

Because of my job I only had 1 show (Rampart) in 2024. With my new job I hope to have several more including Mountain Arts, Rampart, and Doherty.

I also had home show in December.

I'd really like to do a few more, but my time is limited.

---
---

For 2025 what do I want to accomplish:

• Conduct more fused glass classes (at least 4 a month)

• Use more of my molds, get rid of the ones I don't like or use

• Use my tutorials to make new projects (this is an important one)

• Update my Website - specifically my shopping section

• Go through my studio and either get rid of things I don't need

• Use the glass and products I have available
