Fused Glass Screen-printed flowers

Fused Glass Screen-printed flowers

I've been trying to use up some of my glass and finish pieces I've started in the past. This post shows I'm making a bit of progress. I love screen printing and I screen-printed these pieces a while back, but never completed them. The first three, I made into pendants by drilling holes with a diamond …

I lost a dear friend this month

I lost a dear friend this month

This month I lost one of my oldest friends, his name is Don. I met Don in 1998, in Stuttgart Germany. He was such a wonderful friend; he would come over to my apartment and help me with my computer. He would hold my daughter, and she just loved him. She would reach her arms up to him, expecting him …Read more.

Visit to Delta, CO

Visit to Delta, CO

We love going to see Dan's family in Delta Colorado. Now that we have Westcliffe we stayed the night in Westcliffe then drove over the mountains through Gunnison. Here are a couple pictures of Westcliffe and the reservoir near Gunnison. Sadly Ryan and Jaymie weren't there, but we had a wonderful time with Dan's parents, Sisters, Niece, Nephew and grand …Read more.

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to discuss.  This "Did You Know" is about my beloved Westcliffe, and how important it is to give back.

---
---

First as y'all know I love donating my fused glass artwork for a good cause. Last time I was in Westcliffe we ate breakfast at Willy's and Nicki our amazing waitress told us Silver Cliff Mountain Inn was hosting a fundraiser dinner and supplying all the meat for a local artist fighting cancer. Sadly we won't be in Westcliffe on the 23rd, but I'm said I'd like to contribute.  I'll make some fused glass hearts and crosses, and they can use them anyway they want to get more contributions. She also has a GoFundMe link.

Here are the 25 casted Fused Glass Pocket Hearts I donated to help raise money for this beautiful lady and fellow artist. The hearts came with cards and organza bags,

I also donated 25 hand cut organic Fused Glass Pocket Crosses. Aren't they beautiful! I really love making crosses. I need to have a card made for them as well, but at least they come with organza bags.

I also gave Nicki a hand-cut fused glass pocket heart, card, and organza bag, but forgot to take a picture of it. Nicki has been our waitress every time we eat at Willy's and she's just amazing. We love her and I wanted to give her a little personal thank you gift.

Lastly, I gave Willy and Cheryl a special framed heart. Willy and Cheryl consistently hold fundraisers for different local causes. When I gave Cheryl the framed fused glass heart her response was "we've been blessed and want to give back". What fabulous couple. BTW Willy is fighting his own battles and just lost a good friend of his, it's so inspiring how giving he and Cheryl are even while fighting their own battles thinking of others in need.

NOTE: They are also doing a food drive to help local people in need.

---

We also went to a fabulous dinner at Courtyard Country Inn, Vanessa was wonderful and very friendly. Dan and I aren't fancy people, but our good friends Marilyn and Kevin are involved with catering company (Wet Mountain Catering) that supplied this fabulous food (Kevin is the Chef). We had a fantastic time, and the food was delicious.

NOTE: My apologies I was too busy eating all this amazing food and having great conversations with the others at our table that I neglected to take pictures so I the pictures are from Vanessa's Facebook group and Kevin's Facebook group.

Of course I can't leave out some pictures from the Snow Storm we had in Colorado the same weekend as the dinner. It started on Wed and didn't end until Friday night. We drove to Westcliffe Thursday night during a lull. The pass to Westcliffe was much better than I-70 we took coming from the Western Slope.

This is what we woke up to the morning after the storm, Crazy, look at that snow drift! I'm not going to lie to you it was a great place to wait out the snow storm!

We had to venture out Friday night after the storm, look at how full the trees were and the roads of course were pretty snowy as well.

Here are some views from our weekend snow storm. I love Colorado, it can snow for 3 days and this this is how it looks when it's done. Stunning!

BTW Custer county did a fabulous job on getting the roads cleared, they even plowed our little side road.  Much better than Colorado Springs. We had to go to town for our dinner and the roads were cleared by noon.

---

I'm not sure if I showed you these drone pictures from when we came prior to visiting Dan's parents and aren't they spectacular!

Dan also took some drone pictures Saturday after the snow storm. Don't you love fresh snow!

---

We headed over to Westcliffe again for Thanksgiving, this is what Hardscrabble looked like! So cool!

Thanksgiving Morning! Isn't it beautiful! I have so much to be thankful for!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

We had some cool visitors Thanksgiving Morning. I went out and got to see the three cubs heading toward the trees. It was amazing to watch them.

Getting Ready for Christmas, Dan put the tree up and Madi and I decorated it. It's starting to look a lot like Christmas. The big tree is in Colorado Springs.

Then we brought a few Christmas decorations to Westcliffe and put them up as well.

Have I mentioned how much I love Westcliffe?
