Donated Fused Glass Hearts for North Carolina

Donated Fused Glass Hearts for North Carolina

I love creating fused glass hearts, whether they are hand cut or casted. I saw a post on one of my fused glass Facebook groups where a Fused Glass Artist in North Carolina was asking for fused glass heart donations. I was stationed in South Carolina and loved going to North Carolina, I've been to Grandfather Mountain, Boone, etc. and …

Fused Glass 104 COE Murrine

Fused Glass 104 COE Murrine

I love using Murrini in my fused glass art work. Most is 96 COE or 90 COE. Here are just a couple of recent examples. Murrini doesn't just come in 90 & 96 COE, it also comes in 104 COE. In case you didn't know the higher the COE the softer the glass. Murrini starts out as cane and then …Read more.

Old is New Fused Glass Pendants and Sets

Old is New Fused Glass Pendants and Sets

There is a saying in fused glass "never refuse to refuse", I'm a firm believer in that concept. When I first started fusing I got to the point where my pendants were 2 - 3 inches, which is a bit too large for some people. So I looked through some of my older pieces and decided to modify them. Below …Read more.

Medium and Small Fused Glass Snaps

Medium and Small Fused Glass Snaps

One of my favorite Jewelry items to create is my fused glass snaps. Here are some of my medium snaps I've made recently. I also made some fused glass small snaps. Making the small fused glass snaps is very difficult. They have to fit into the bezel and that's a bit of a challenge. You can see I tumbled several …Read more.

Fused Glass Earrings and Sets

Fused Glass Earrings and Sets

I've always struggled with making fused glass earrings because it's difficult to get fused glass pieces similar enough in size and appearance to be earrings. I just finished a few posts, dangles, and even a few sets. Here are some of the handmade fused glass dangle earrings I made. If you'd like a pair of earrings please let me know. …

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to discuss.  This "Did You Know" is finishing some of my projects.

As I did in October, I did another challenge for my scrap glass. This time my amazing black, silver, and white spirit glass.

*Remember, if you see something you want to purchase - please let me know!

---

One of my favorite types of glass is spirit glass and the best one is white, black, grey, and clear. Why because it's beautiful and elegant. It has a lovely iridescent sheen to it.

I separated it into different sizes and shapes.

---

I made some vitrigraph and pebbles with some of the spirt glass. I've used the pebbles, however I haven't had a chance to use the vitrigraph yet.

---

This is why I love the spirt glass. I made so many different shapes and sizes. Look at big one, just by changing the orientation it totally changes the appearance. So elegant!

Not only does it look beautiful by itself adding Spirit glass to black and white glass makes it even more elegant!

Not only do I love adding spirit glass to white, black, and clear I love adding it to opaque, colored glass, etc. Basically you can use it with any other glass to enhance the elegance of any piece you make.

---

Here are special dishes I created with Black, White, and Spirit! I just love the combination!

If you had to guess, what do you think my next "scrap glass" challenge is going to be?

I also made coral bowls and vases! aren't they so cool!

---

Here are a couple other spirit pieces I've made with my spirit glass.

---

Another cool thing about spirt glass when you add it to dichroic it creates amazing pieces like I did with my butter knives, pocket hearts, and pocket hearts.

---

I also created several snaps with spirit over dichroic.

I love the look of spirit over dichroic so much I made several pendants.

Of course I made a couple pair of earrings and a tie tack! Can't go wrong with Spirit Glass over dichroic.

---

I also casted several pieces with spirit glass. I made a bowl out of one of the casted pieces (top pictures). I haven't decided what to make with the other two yet.

I'll keep you in the loop.

---

Just in case you were curious I love spirt glass so much this is one of my favorite pieces I've kept for myself.

---

Love Spirit Glass.  BTW if you take a class with me you can make a free tiny dishes with Spirt glass! Please contact me if you would like to take a class.

---

What is your favorite piece I made with my streaky glass? This was a fun challenge. I think I'll do it again with my other scrap glass, next time it's Black Glass!
