So I spent the entire month of August in Korea, I worked a lot so I didn't do much. I do love my hotel though. I also went to the chiropractor, pedicure, and massage. Self care is so very important. I must tell you the chiropractor did a fabulous job. It wasn't just because I was so very busy I …Read more.

I love Murrine and Millefiori. In fact I buy it all the time from several different artists. Murrine is little pieces of glass that are cross-sections of cane that reveal images. According to Wikipedia, murrine "first appeared in the Middle East more than 4,000 years ago and was revived by Venetian glassmakers on Murano in the early 16th century". Millefiori is a …Read more.

I love these little fused glass dishes. The small 3-inch square dishes are perfect for rings, tea bags, spoons, a small candle, or just as a pretty little dish. I went a bit crazy and made several, whether they are 3 pieces put together like the first picture or 2 pieces of glass like the next two just a piece …Read more.

Several months ago, I made a few fused glass dishes for the house in Westcliffe. I made beautiful amber, blue, and green rectangular dishes perfect for dinner and breakfast. The key is not to put them in the microwave. I love my fused glass dishes, however I didn't make enough. So, I've made a 3 more in clear using the …Read more.

One of my goals this year is to use some of my glass and murine. So this post is about 6 fused glass small decorative bowls I just finished. These are not food safe, they are home decor. The first two fused glass bowls are made with pinks and purple glass. They also include iridized, murine, cane, and so much …Read more.

I love making fused glass dishes. This fused glass bowl has so much going for it. First, it's spirt glass and it's purple. You may not know this, but purple, pink, and red glass is made with gold, which is why purple glass is so expensive. It's also transparent glass which makes it even better, these pictures just don't do …Read more.

Here are a few pictures from Sharon's store and how she displays some of my glass work . Here are a few pictures of her and Brian picking out some fused glass to take back to her shop. …Read more.

So we've been to Westcliffe several times, but I haven't shown you the pictures. Here are some of my favorite photos from our trips to my little piece of heaven. The first group should be no surprise - flowers. Some were planted and some are wild. BTW when I say planted, I mean last year we threw the seeds on …Read more.

Did you know ...This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to discuss. This "Did You Know" is finishing some of my projects. For September's did you know I thought I'd do a challenge for myself. I have a lot of scrap glass - what that means is when I make something I typically have pieces of glass left over. I typically just put it in a container and it was getting pretty full. *Remember, if you see something you want to purchase - please let me know!

First I thought I'd show you all white, ivory, and vanilla glass of all shapes and sizes. It started out as boxes of white, ivory, and vanilla glass.
First thing I did is separate them. First for big pieces for use such as trinket dishes, soap dishes, tea caddy dishes, candle holders, and so much more. I have both 4x4 dishes, 3x3 dishes, and then parts to be combined with other glass.
Then I separated and cut up some plant stake shapes. I also cut several for use for flower vases, which can be used as art pieces, Christmas ornaments (snowmen, Santa, angel, etc.), flower magnets, and so much more.
Additionally, I made several magnet, pendant, and snap size pieces similar sizes to these.
I also made some casted pieces including hearts and doggy paws by adding, color, white, and clear (or iridized).
I also casted a large fused glass flower, it's in the kiln right now slumping. BTW, Slumping is the most difficult firing schedule. Sadly my flower broke. Now what to do with it.
I also made this beautiful fused glass coral bowl. Isn't it beautiful.
I also made a few small dishes saying blanks. I just love making these so I didn't have as much white glass in the right size for them.
Here are some tiny and small dishes that have white on the bottom then sheet glass in either pieces (red, pink, green), sheet glass (middle), and frit bottom blue.
Here are some more dishes with strips of white or ivory glass used with other color.
I also have lots more in the kiln, including jewelry, here are just a few of them.
Here are more casts however I haven't decided what I'm going to do with them. I'll put them in the kiln and flatten them out (they are an inch thick), then I'll decide what to do with them.
What is your favorite piece I made with my white glass? This was a fun challenge. I think I'll do it again with my other scrap glass.
