It's been a crazy busy January 2024. First my husband had his 2nd knee surgery - he's doing very well now. He also bought his dream truck, that he's wanted since I met him over 30 years ago. It was a great birthday present for him. I love him so very much and he deserves it. We also went to Westcliffe - it's been 3 weeks since we visited, and I missed it. I just love it when we visit, our home away from home.

February is going to be even a busier month for me. I have 4 classes in the first two weeks of February.
• 3 Feb at 10am - I have a class including pocket vases and casted hearts.
• 3 Feb at 6pm - I have my Festivitea class (it sold out - I limited it to 10 people).
• 4 Feb in the 1pm- I have a class involving hearts, jewelry, and who knows what else.
• 8 Feb at 6pm - I'm going to have another class at Festivitea! I'm guessing it's another Dichroic jewelry class since it sold out on the 3rd.
Then on the 17th of Feb I go to Korea for a work event. I'll be gone for quite a while so if my posts are late, please understand, the mission comes first. I'm truly blessed with my family; I love teaching and I love my job so I'm really happy. If you want to schedule a class for March, please let me know and we'll get one scheduled.

Last week I had two of my favorite students ask to make some casted hearts. Since I have a minimum of three students, we invited two of my friends who have wanted to take a class, to take the class too. Here are some pictures of the class setup. I also had lots of supplies for them, including casting molds …Read more.

Earlier this month I spent a few hours with my friend Cathy. Well, she went home and fused the flowers we made during our "glass date" then made even more. The ones we made are the top row then she made more, on the bottom row. We had such a wonderful time we decided to go to D&L to buy …Read more.

On February 3rd I am teaching a Fused Glass Dichroic Jewelry Class at Festivitea. Sign-up for this class through Festivitea. I taught a Fused Glass Ornament Class at Festivitea in December and had a wonderful time. In preparation for the dichroic jewelry class, I made several samples using iridized, black dichroic, clear glass, and other accessories. Here are just a …Read more.

I love writing about Festivitea, a few months ago Lela and I took a macrame class together there and this past week we took another macrame class together. Here is what I made during the first Macrame class. I love how Margo decorates the shop. What a beautiful and cozy place. Here are a couple of pictures of the shop, …Read more.

I've mentioned my friend Cathy, numerous times; she is a wonderful Glass Mosaic artist and instructor. We've been friends for several years and recently we agreed to have a glass date where we'd talk about mosaics and fusing, specifically incorporating fused glass into mosaics. Here is my studio setup ready for my Glass Date with Cathy. Here are just a …Read more.

I mentioned Gary from the www.bigredbarnoriginal.com, in my November DYK, he's an amazing artist. I've bought several pieces from him, and in Nov he had a lovely mountain scene picture. I commissioned him to create a picture of my view of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Here are a few of Gary's and his wife's artwork from their website. Both …Read more.

I always talk about the glass I use, but I rarely talk about the tools I use to create my fused glass artwork. First let's talk about some of the hand tools I use. From the left I use pistol grip glass cutters, which is a misnomer because they don't cut glass, they score it and create a fissure. I …Read more.

I made another set of custom commercial fused glass soap dishes for a hotel. They are simple, but elegant black dishes. Here are the fused glass soap dishes in the kiln for a full fuse and slumping. Here are some of the fused glass soap dishes already to be shipped to the new owners. I always send a present when …Read more.

Did you know ...This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to discuss. This "Did You Know" is a year in review and a plan for 2024. My plan for 2024 - give more classes, create glass art from tutorials I've purchased (video & e-books), and either use my leftover pieces or get rid of them so I can clean my studio out more.
Normally each January I write a DYK regarding how well I accomplished last year and what I want to do in 2024.
I’ve done really good at clean my studio. Mainly because I keep it picked up for my classes. This has gotten easier for me, so for 2024 I want to really clean it and go through each box and shelf and clean things out. This which will also help me use my supplies.

This is my finishing and inspiration room. I love this room because I have fused glass pieces from classes, books, and of course things I need to finish.
Here is my finished room, I take pictures here and store my finished fused glass here.
This is my screen-printing room; I screen-print on glass, fabric, and wood. I also keep my other glass separate i.e., if I have classes in 96 COE then I put my 90 COE in here as well.
This is the gallery so to speak, I have it up so people can have inspiration for their classes or if they want to buy my glass art. I also have a photo area here so I can take pictures of my glass art for my newsletter. I love it when students spend time in the gallery and buy the fused glass artwork.

Make glass projects using video tutorials I’ve purchased. In 2023 I did horrible on my tutorials. I only did one and it was just a YouTube video and I’ve done several others similar and used the mold too so I'm not even sure if it counts. I’ve got to do better in 2024.
Here are some of the new molds I used during 2023. I must admit I’m a bit shocked I didn’t used more of my new molds. I've got to do better in 2024 and use more of my molds.
I made several custom pieces this year, I enjoy making custom pieces. Some are fun and some challenge me, but I love them all.
I used a lot of new findings, I like using new findings, they can be pretty challenging. I love making functional pieces.
I can’t believe it, but I didn’t take any in person fused glass classes. At least I took three other classes all with my bestie Lela. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be taking any fused glass classes this year either; I'm just so busy.
I gave 6 classes at home not counting my close friends (Tracy & Lela) and 1 class outside my home! I love giving classes, I want to have even more classes in 2024! I'm off to a great start based on this month and the ones I have scheduled in February.
I had 7 production orders. Thank you so much for my commercial customers!! I love making fused glass pieces for hotels and restaurants. I hope I make more commercial pieces this year.
I had four Arts & Craft shows at Beckwith, Mountain Arts, Rampart, and Doherty. I also had home shows throughout the year.
I have tree stores Beckwith Ranch Gift Shoppe (opens again in April), Festivitea, and Tulips and the Sangre's Art Guild gallery.
Remember, buying from artists and crafters mean more to them than you can imagine. Support artists, they create because they love creating and sharing their art.
I can’t leave out Westcliffe, we were able to move into our home, I can’t wait to retire and live there forever. I wanted to show you two of the things I love about Westcliffe; the Mountains and the Flowers!
