Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to discuss.

This "Did You Know" is about one of my favorite places - you guessed it Westcliffe.

---

Before I went to Korea, Dan and I went to Westcliffe for Labor Day, and we had a wonderful time. Here are some pictures of my mountains.

---

We don't always walk around Westcliffe anymore, but Dan had a men's meeting, so I walked around town and went into a couple stores and bought the book from the flea market.

---

There were two quilt shows the weekend I was there. I love quilts so I went to both of shows. My grandmother, aunts, and cousins make quilts and I've always envied their skills and the beauty of this art form. Here are just a few pictures from the first quilt show. The photos don't do them justice.

I bought a tiny quilt and it's so pretty. BTW the ladies that ran the show were so friendly and let me know there is a quilting circle and welcomed me to attend it. I'd so love to make a quilt, even if it is simple. I think there is a lot of similarities between quilting and glass.

---
---

As I mentioned there was a second smaller quilt show.  Both were held at churches in town.

Even though it was smaller, the art was incredible. There were 4 or 5 pieces that I thought were just pictures that were quilted. But NO all of these pieces were actual quilts all sewn together piece by piece then quilted. Aren't they exquisite!

---
---

There was also a car show the same weekend.

I'm not a big car person, but I must admit I love old cars.

They have such character and takes me back in history.

The cars of today don't come close to the cars of yesterday. Aren't they fabulous!

I love how a small town, such as Westcliffe, have such a variety of activities. I wish I was able to go to all the events of Westcliffe every month.

---

We started to finish the dirt work at our Westcliffe home. We put up our cameras and it was great seeing the work being done. It is also wonderful seeing little visitors every now and then. Hopefully it will be done before the snow hits.
