Fused Glass Flower for Mother's Day

Fused Glass Flower for Mother's Day

With Mother's Day coming up I thought I'd make some Fused Glass Flowers for Mother's Day. There are so many options for these flowers. First are small pieces that can be magnets or pendants. I also made some bigger ones the first row has a clear base. The second row has white bases. I like the vases; they make me …Read more.

New Slumped Fused Glass Dishes

New Slumped Fused Glass Dishes

I love creating fused glass dishes, whether for art or as functional pieces. I just finished slumping several new dishes. Here are just a few of them. There are myriad of techniques and they are in various sizes. This first set is pieces of clear and blue fused together then put on a texture mold and finally slumped into a …

Bottle Vases

Bottle Vases

I've been making a lot of fused glass stirrers and flower stakes lately. I normally keep them in a bottle vase, but I've made so many I've ran out of bottle vases, so I've decided to make some bottle glass vases more. These first two bottles have texture so I decided to try to smooth our the edge by fusing …Read more.

Fused Glass Stirrers and Flower Stakes

Fused Glass Stirrers and Flower Stakes

I enjoy making fused glass stirrers and flower stakes. A friend of mine asked me to make her a few so I made her the five below and then made several. It's funny how some of the bulbs on the bottom round out nice and others stay square. It doesn't really matter to me; I like the tops. Here are …Read more.

Fused glass - Drop Vases Mistakes

Fused glass - Drop Vases Mistakes

A couple of months ago I finished up some of my fused glass drop vases. Here are the pictures of them and the majority of them turned out beautifully. However, there were a couple that didn't turn out well. The first picture shows how I separated it, the how uneven it was, so I trimmed it off and the last …Read more.

Fused Glass Cane

Fused Glass Cane

I pull vitrigraph and cane pretty regularly, but I'm not an expert at creating fancy cane / murrine. So, when one of my good friends was selling cane, I decided to buy some of her COE 96 cane. They remind me of the old fashion stick candy, so colorful. It's funny when I buy specialty glass it's always difficult for …Read more.

Wissmach Glass Pebbles and Squares

Wissmach Glass Pebbles and Squares

Last month I wrote about some of the fused glass pieces (below are just some of the dishes) I made with Wissmach Prisma Glass, Reactive Blue Oster Pearl and Oster Pearl Reactive Blue. Such a beautiful glass. I loved this glass so much I decided to make pebbles and squares and see what I could make out of it. First, …Read more.

Fused Glass - Drop Holes

Fused Glass - Drop Holes

I've written about my fused glass drop vases a few times. This post is about the part of the vase I cut off, I call them the Fused Glass "holes". Most fused glass artists make the rims out of clear and just toss them but I make the entire piece beautiful. In the past I just cut them up and …Read more.

Screen-printed Coasters, Trivets, Cutting Board, Oh My!

Screen-printed Coasters, Trivets, Cutting Board, Oh My!

A few months ago I made some coasters and trivets. I decided to make a few more coasters. I hand screen printed them. Which is your favorite coaster? I also made a few rectangle trivets. I like the round ones but two of these protect the table better. I also made some cutting boards. Technically the boards came from Seth. …Read more.

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to include.

My trip to Montgomery Alabama, went well. It was an informative and productive trip.

---

My business trip was 3 weeks and my days were very long. But I did get to go out on one of the Saturdays. I went downtown Prattville. It's so pretty and people are friendly. I like rivers and old buildings.

Afterwards I went on a geo cash with a co-worker. It was my first-time going geo cashing and it was fun.

We were driving around and got to see a train going by. I'm such a geek, I love trains, boats, planes, rivers, lakes, mountains, etc.

---

We went to the river walk in downtown Montgomery. No river boat, but it's still pretty.

---

We went to a hotel I've stayed in before and took pictures of the mosaics. It's so beautiful and detailed, too bad we couldn't stay this trip.

---

I also brought some presents with me for some of the women I work with during my trip. Here are a some pictures of them.

---

I also finished some small pendants. Some have bezels and some have bails. I like that there are different colors of bails.

I made some fused glass snaps, tiny ones and larger ones.

I made some fused glass earrings. Here are the posts (sorry about the lighting in my room).

Here are some dangle fused glass earrings. As you can see there are 3 different types of ear wires.

Lastly, I made some accessories including: pill boxes, tie tacks, hair band and spoons.

It was great finishing up some glass pieces while I was on my business trip. Let me know if you'd like to know more about my fused glass artwork.
