Fixing Fused Glass

Fixing Fused Glass

During my fused glass art shows, sometimes my customers will bring in one of my fused glass pieces in and ask me to fix it. Shannon brought in this pendant and she dropped it and it broke (sadly I forgot to take a picture of the broken pieces). I took the bail off the bigger piece, grind it a bit, …Read more.

Custom Fused Glass Signs for Westcliffe

Custom Fused Glass Signs for Westcliffe

For those who follow me know I love Westcliffe Colorado and those same people know I love making custom glass artwork. This blog is combining both of those loves. A good friend of mine has a new house in Westcliffe, and I wanted to make a couple of house warming gifts for him. The house has a septic tank and …Read more.

Custom Fused Glass Donut

Custom Fused Glass Donut

A few years ago, one of my customers asked me to make a couple fused glass donuts to incorporate into her own artwork. She sent me a picture of what she made with the donuts and told me it broke. This month she asked me to make her another fused glass donut. I typically just make things without taking notes …Read more.

Private Fused Glass Ornament & Tree Class

Private Fused Glass Ornament & Tree Class

I've mentioned my fused glass classes over the last few months, and I will always show off my students work. Last week I had a private class with some of my previous students. They wanted to make Fused Glass Ornaments and standing trees. As always, I had the room all set up for four students. Here are some pictures of …Read more.

Custom Presents for Co-Workers

Custom Presents for Co-Workers

One of my favorite things to do is to make custom silk screens so I can make special presents for people. Last year I made presents for my co-workers and this year is no exception. In fact, I think I went a bit crazy. First, I made little magnets for them (actually it's for our board). The black ones are …Read more.

Custom Fused Glass Small dishes & Stirrers

Custom Fused Glass Small dishes & Stirrers

One of my co-workers asked me to make small fused glass dishes for her family (7 of them) and matching stirrers for Christmas. I love making fused glass stirrers and small dishes, so I didn't hesitate to make them for her. First, we picked out the colors and then I fused the dishes and stirrers. Below are a couple shots …Read more.

Winner of Doherty Art Show - 2022

Winner of Doherty Art Show - 2022

I participated in the Doherty High School Arts and Craft Show this month. I always love talking about my glass. My husband Dan is a gigantic help. I just don't know what I'd do without him. Additionally, I want to thank Lela and Marco, setting up shows are extremely difficult when you have bad knees and they helped us carry …

Custom Fused Glass Barrettes

Custom Fused Glass Barrettes

During the Rampart Craft fair, a new customer asked me if I could make matching barrettes based on two, she found. For one of the barrettes, I was lucky and was able to make another barrette that was pretty close to the original (last 2 photos). It's difficult to completely recreate glass, but I think they look really good. The …Read more.

Custom Fused Glass Spoon Rest

Custom Fused Glass Spoon Rest

A few years ago, one of my good customers asked me to create a 12 fused glass spoon rests with standup metal holders. It's kind of funny it took me forever to get the firing schedule and size right, so you'd think I'd remember. She asked me to make her one more this year, so the question is did I …Read more.

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to include.

Last summer my niece Jaymie had a beautiful little girl, Ryan. I was able to meet her over Thanksgiving. Here are just a couple of cute pictures of her. Over Thanksgiving I met my new great niece - Ryan. She's such a cutie and I wanted to make a few presents for Ryan and my niece Jaymie. Since I love screen printing it was an easy decision.

---

I wanted to make something special for her and for my grand niece. So I made her a fused glass sconce with all her particulars and of course a couple of pictures. I hope Jaymie likes the sconce. I added a flower and a ladybug.

I also wanted to make her some personal bibs. Aren't they cute. Jaymie wanted these types of bibs. I have to say I really struggled with these bibs, the reason is because they are double layered so, the first one I made I screwed up. But I did get a little better.

This one is only 1 layer and was much easier to print. It turned out perfectly, I'm very happy with it.

I did mess up on two of them. I'm still going to give her the princess one. The grey one was my first and so I practiced a bit more on it since it was messed up anyway.

---

I also screen printed a couple burping towels. This material didn't take the screen print as well. Plus I forget I can't just wipe off the paint like I can with glass or ceramic. I set all of these with my heat press.  I know they aren't perfect but I hope Jaymie likes them and know they are made with love.

---

I love making special pieces for family!  This year I made magnets for several of my family members. I hope you enjoy seeing I don't just sell my glass, I make them for my family.

---

I made custom fused glass magnets for Jaymie. I put them on a card (Wish my penmanship was better). They make perfect gifts.

---

I also made custom fused glass magnet for my sister-in-law Lisa.

---

I also made custom fused glass magnets for my sister-in-law Nanci.

---

I also made a magnet / card for my niece Kaci, she'll be having a baby in April.

---

I also made custom fused glass magnets for my mother and father in law. I hope they like them.

---

I also made custom fused glass magnets for my son of my grandbaby. As you can see this is one of my favorites so I sent some to David and kept several for me.

---

I also made custom fused glass magnets and for me. Here are some of my beautiful daughter, Sky.

I love this picture of Mzia so I made a few for me and of course I sent 1 to David.

I also made some for myself of Ryan and my parents in law.

---

These are handmade decals and can be scratched off so I sprayed them with sealant (Matt & Glossy).

---

I hope you like seeing some of my screen printed and handmade decals I made for my family. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like me to make a custom fused glass piece for you.
