One of my goals this year is to use my glass and to use my glass part sheets I've created and not used. These are all made with 96 COE glass. This post is about some of the small dishes I've made. This first set of pictures is my small (under 5 inches) fused glass dishes. They are perfect for …Read more.

Anytime I have space in my kiln I fire fused glass stirrers or flower stakes. I think they are fun to make and pretty easy as well. First you may ask, they look so similar what's the difference. The main difference is with stirrers you don't want the top decoration to be too big, additionally the shape - typically the …Read more.

When I go to an art or craft show I always try to buy a piece of Art from a fellow artist. The Woodland Park arts festival this year was no exception. However, what I bought is exceptional. It's a knife, but not any knife it's a glass knife. How could I resist, it's freaking glass!! The glass is handmade, …Read more.

Recently, I wrote a post about my art show at Woodland Park Art Festival and the winner (Tammy). This post is a bit different. During my show I met some wonderful people. Two of the most memorable people I met was this amazing couple. She and I got to talking and I noticed her American Flag pin (it was her …Read more.

This past weekend I had my first official Art show of the season. It was in Woodland Park, Colorado. It was their 37th year; I love this show, so many great vendors and such a beautiful place. It was a Saturday and Sunday; the second picture is of Pikes Peak and the third picture is of Pike's Peak and check …

It's that time again, I so love the wildflowers of Colorado. The interesting thing about Westcliffe is that every time we go there are different flowers, and I love them all. I also have to take several pictures of each flower. This first group of flowers are from the side of the road. I tried to get some close ones … Read more.

Did you know ...This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to include. This month my DYK is about my trip to Breckenridge. I'm sorry but I just love documenting my travels. This trip to Brackenridge was a blast. This is Dan and I at the Continental Divide.

This first section I want to talk about relaxation. Dan and I really relaxed while we're there. First is the Grotto. It's for those 21 and older and they have a hot tub, a steam room, and sauna. I liked the steam room and hot tub but I only went into the sauna once.
They also had outdoor hot tubs. We stuck to the 21 and older hot tub. It's kind of funny we had a little routine we started at the grotto and then went to the outdoor tub and then chilled for a bit before starting our day.
We also watched 3 movies in the private theater. We saw "Ender's Game" - which was different but pretty good. Then we watched "The Greatest Showman" it was fabulous we just couldn't stop talking about it. Then we watch "Wilds", again a fantastic movie. LOVED it!
The other thing we did was read. We both brought books and we spent time reading. I've had this book "the Glass house" for 3 years. I actually stayed at the Author's house. She was great. Obviously, I love the title (glass), but the cool thing is she used 2 of my friends for inspiration Laurie & Joel, who were suspects in the killing of my other friend Craig. Obviously, she used different names and Craig isn't the horrible person in the book. But there were so many similarities; Craig is world renown for his flowers (poppies not peonies), Joel is a fabulous cook, etc. I loved thinking oh that's true but of course I also was like no Craig isn't like that, or Laurie and Craig would never have an affair. But after all the comparisons I just loved the book especially its focus on glass and the female Private Eye. It's a fabulous book! It's so great to read again.
Now for Breckenridge. Ironically Dan doesn't really like Breckenridge he says it's too crowded, but I like it. I love the river and the flowers. Because it's mid-August there weren't many flowers like last July.
That being said the town flowers were fabulous! I love how both Breckenridge and Westcliffe have so many town flowers.
I love art so I went to Old Masonic Hall, they had the 4 displays above. They were so cool the art piece on the left looks like little shutters, but it reflected me. Isn't that so cool. the two in the middle are also me but they are electronic. Believe it or not the one in the upper right-hand picture is a huge display that looks like puffs of yarn. That's a person as well. I just couldn't get enough of these art pieces. If you go to Breckenridge, please take some time to visit the Old Masonic Hall displays.
I also like the gondola. I didn't get to ride it as much as I normally do because they shut it down pretty regularly because of the weather. I wish the windows weren't so scratched up so I could take better pictures.
One of our favorite things to do is to go up to blue river and take pictures of the goats. I just love it. Plus, the flowers and mountains and the lake. So, we go up to the Blue River and there aren't many flowers and the road to the goats So as we're heading back down we see a fox in the middle of the road, we just stay there and watch it, but when a car comes the other way we don't want it to get ran over so we inch up and it comes by the car and I was able to get a couple of great pictures. What a beautiful animal.
I've written posts about our snowmobile trips to Breckenridge. So, when we didn't get a chance to go see the goats, Dan said why don't we drive up where we go snowmobiling. Ironically, we saw this mine and got out and walked around. It was so cool, and I love the mountains, the river, and of course the mine.
One of our favorite things to do when we're in Breckenridge is to go ATVing. We go to the same place because we can rent a truck, trailer, and ATV - they give us a map and we're off. Here is the setup. We also came across an old cabin ruin.
I took so many pictures my phone also most died. I even had to stop taking pictures. Yes, there are a lot of pictures but it's nothing compared to what I actually took.
I loved all the mushrooms these are just a few! Aren't they awesome!
Because it's mid-August a lot of the flowers were dying, but I still loved them. Especially the little purple bells.
We went all the way up the trail to the top - the continental divide. Isn't it freaking awesome! We walked around and had lunch. What a freaking blast!!
Not to far from the top we took a side road and ended up with another beautiful view.
We also found another cabin ruin. Clearly this was for minors because there were mine tailings.
