Fused Glass Window Covers

Fused Glass Window Covers

My good friend, who loves to challenge me regarding glass, asked me if I could make fused glass window covers for her new house. We picked out the glass colors, we measured the windows, and I made some test pieces. Here are some pictures of the fused glass covers in the kiln (top) and finished (bottom). They are huge. I …Read more.

Westcliffe, Colorado

I know ya'll are probably bored with my posts of Westcliffe, but I never do. We love it. On our way over Hardscrabble pass. The trees were all laden with snow, it was so beautiful. We also saw some big horn sheep. On the way home we saw some too. I think they just love that area. I love Colorado …Read more.

Fused Glass Gold Butterflies, Dragonflies, & Leaves!

Fused Glass Gold Butterflies, Dragonflies, & Leaves!

In last month's Newsletter I wrote about adding gold to some of my fused glass pieces. I like the gold so much that I added the gold so much. I like the washi paper so here is the fused glass butterfly and flower with the washi paper and the other is a frame I got in Japan. I also made …Read more.

Washington DC

Washington DC

Last week I was able to travel to Washington DC for work. I love to travel whether for personal reasons or for work. I didn't have a lot of free time, but I did take the time to see Mount Vernon and of course some of the monuments. I've been to DC a few times in my life albeit I've …Read more.

Fused Glass Flower Sconces

Fused Glass Flower Sconces

I love flowers. In fact, last year when we drove over Grand Mesa, I must have made my husband stop 1000 times so I could take pictures of the flowers. When we went to Westcliffe last spring, I literally must have taken hundreds of pictures of flowers. And of course, I've made fused glass flowers large and small. I'm so …Read more.

Handmade Paper

Handmade Paper

One of the most difficult things for me is deciding how to display my fused glass artwork. A few months ago, I had Tracy laser jet cut a hummingbird for me, but the wing broke off. The problem was it was so pretty I didn't want to throw it away, so I thought I'd frame it and keep it for …Read more.

3D Standing Fused Glass

3D Standing Fused Glass

I love unicorns and I've had these molds for quite a while. The unicorn is casted, then I slumped it on a mold that allows it to stand. Then I added gold. There are several steps to create this piece, but I think it's pretty cute. I made the deer around the same time and again I added gold. Maybe …Read more.

Fused Glass Snowflake

Fused Glass Snowflake

One of my friends and customers asked me to make her a fused glass snowflake on iridized. I think it's beautiful and she seems happy with it. We kept it flat and put it in a stand. However, if she changes her mind, we can slump it into a bowl shape for a centerpiece or hang it on the wall. …Read more.

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to include.

In January I wrote about some of the projects I want accomplish glass wise this year.  I finished a myriad of fused glass pieces recently and wanted to show some of them off.

---

First, some of the fused glass wallflower art pieces I finished up. It's kind of funny, I've had all of these pieces for a while as bowls, but I thought they'd look better as wallflowers. To take good pictures I hung the flowers up, I think they look fabulous! The green one is small and beautiful!

---

Here are a few more fused glass art pieces I finished. I love this deer piece. I fused it then tried a stand, but I like it better as a sconce. What do y'all think?

I did the same with these two pieces. They were flat but again I think sconces are a better way to display them. I got the idea while I was making flower sconces.

I can't remember if I wrote a post about this aspen piece, but it deserves to be shown again. I just love the wood background. Glass and wood go so well together.

I love making little glass dishes, they are perfect for soap, spoons, rings, tea, and so much more.

---

I love making jewelry, so I made a plethora of fused glass pendants. There are probably 10-20 different techniques. Each pendant that is $15 or higher comes with a cord. Check out the doubled bail pendants!

---

I also made some fused glass post earrings and some rings. The base of the rings is gunmetal grey. The earrings are stainless steel.

I also made a couple of fused glass pendant and earring sets. I don't know if you can tell but the ones on the left is aventurine green and the ones on the right are pink iridized.

Y'all will love these. I bought some handmade murrine from another artist and I picked the best ones and fired them perfectly then I made them into earrings. Aren't they fabulous!!

---

I'm pretty sure I showed some of these off last month, but I couldn't help showing them off again. There are fused glass pocket hearts, crosses, and my sun. They can be used as pocket charms, or I can add bails to them or even magnets.

---

I love making fused glass stirrers. Here are a few I made this month.

---

I also finished my glass trees.  Doesn't the little deer look cute amongst the trees?  I'm so happy with them.

---

It was a pretty productive month. I love fused glass and I enjoy creating my artwork. I enjoy hearing from ya'll so what is your favorite fused glass that I make?
