Fused Glass Tree Class

Fused Glass Tree Class

During one of my craft shows I met this amazing artist named Merle, she created the most amazing gourds. I wrote about her and the gourd I traded for in November. During the visit she asked me if I could give her some glass cabochons so she could include them in her gourd creations. I of course said yes and …

Time in Westcliffe

Time in Westcliffe

We went to Westcliffe in January and February. We had such a wonderful time on both trips. In January we went looking for Elk along the Sangre de Cristo mountains and up in the wet mountains. We spent all day driving around looking at the beauty that is the Wet Mountain Valley. We didn't see any Elk but it was …

Fused Glass Trinket Dishes

One of my favorite fused glass products to make is small dishes. I like to make them because they are fun, easy, and so very versatile. They can be used as trinket dishes, soap dishes, tea caddies, spoon rests, candle holders, and so much more. These four are beautiful I like the colors, I'm not sure if you can tell …Read more.

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to include.

Last month I discussed some of the things I want accomplish glass wise this year.  So, to help me stay on track I want track my progress. Based on below you can tell I'm doing pretty good.

---

Update my website - specifically the shopping section. I've made a start. I've got my artwork and jewelry out. Now all I have to do is start taking pictures of my fused glass and put it on the site; easy peasy. LOL actually that was the easy part.

Clean my studio: I cleaned all of my glass areas; my studio, my finishing room, and my finished room. I'm pretty proud of myself getting it all cleaned up.

---

As I mentioned last month I have a myriad of e-books, of course ironically the project I chose was from my newest e-book, silver tints by Vitrum.  I don't typically follow the directions exactly in order to make it my own.

These are the first two dishes I made, based on the middle project above. The green is similar to the green above. The bottom one is actually a blue tint but it's not as blue as I had hoped. I also didn't just fire polish them I full fused them.

The bottom dish is based on the 3rd picture above, but I used different colored glass. The top one is a combination both the techniques. Additionally, I made my dishes into squares vs round.

Since I was playing with silver, I thought I'd use some of my reactive glass. Believe it or not the one on the right is actually the bottom two slumped. I'm pretty happy with all my little dishes.

---

had numerous fused glass casted pieces I wanted to add gold and palladium to. I added gold to everything I wanted to (these are just a few), but I still need to decide how I want to use them, but they are one step closer.

---

I made these two pendants based on a video tutorial by Sarinda Jones. It was actually only one of the techniques in the video. I think it's kind of cool technique, simple and beautiful.

---
---

There are also things I didn't get to. Using my left-over glass and broken pieces is the main one, maybe because I have so much and it's a bit overwhelming.

I have a lot of projects that I've broken or have glass left over from other projects. I want to use it to make new projects otherwise I just keep adding to it.
