Happy Thanksgiving - 2021

Happy Thanksgiving - 2021

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I had a great time with family on the western slope (Delta) of Colorado. Here are just a few pictures of family. It was the first time Sky wasn't with us. In fact it was the only time we weren't all together since she was born other than when I was in Iraq. …Read more.

Custom Fused Glass Night light

Custom Fused Glass Night light

In October I wrote a post about my new faux stained glass ornaments. I took them to my shows at Liberty and Rampart. Obviously I sold some as ornaments but I also had a customer ask me if I could change the one below into a nightlight. Because it had a loop fused in I was able to do it …Read more.

Tiny Fused Glass Flowers

Tiny Fused Glass Flowers

I love flowers and I love making fused glass flowers. Obviously I've shown my big flowers - that I just love! But I haven't shown many of my tiny fused glass flowers. I think they are beautiful and so very versatile. First they can be left flat, or slumped, and with or without the center dot. They can be used …Read more.

"New" Uranium Glass

"New" Uranium Glass

A couple months ago I wrote a post about Uranium glass I purchased. Since then I got me a few more pieces that I thought I'd show off. Some glow a lot more than others like the cup and saucer below. Also some show up really well on a black background than just in the photo box with the blacklight. …Read more.

Winner of Rampart Art Show - 2021

Winner of Rampart Art Show - 2021

Yesterday I had another Arts and Craft Show at Rampart High School. I like Rampart's show because I don't have to set up and tear-down the same day. It's so much work and hard on our bodies. Here are some photos from my Rampart booth. Just like Liberty show I held a drawing for those who signed up for my …Read more.

Fused Glass Star Tree Topper

Fused Glass Star Tree Topper

One of my customers asked me if I could make her a fused glass star tree topper. It was a bit of a challenge, but I love it when my customers ask me to do something I've never done before. Here are some pictures of my fused glass star, you can leave it the way it is. Or you can …Read more.

New Fused Glass Ornament for 2021

New Fused Glass Ornament for 2021

In 2020 I made special ornaments to represent Covid. So this year I decided to make a special Christmas ornament for 2021. It's a syringe to represent the vaccination. I think they turned out pretty cool. I didn't make many of them and I took one into work. I'm curious what y'all think of them! If you would like to …Read more.

Fused Glass Tree Stands

Fused Glass Tree Stands

I love making fused glass Christmas ornaments. Additionally I like making stand alone (no pun intended). These little fused glass Christmas tree stands are wonderful. I haven't glued the trees onto the stands yet so they can easily be changed out. I'm sure this design will also work for other home decor set-ups. If you have something in mind let …Read more.

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to include.

This DYK is highlights from my Art Shows. Even thought they are hard work I enjoy my Art Shows, mainly because I enjoy sharing my love of Glass.

First and foremost I want to give a shout-out to my fabulous husband. He not only carry everything in and out of the shows he stayed and helped me for both shows.

Thank you Dan - thank you so very much!! I love you!

As I mentioned in the post earlier this month Liberty was my first official show since 2019. I did have a couple of small home shows but it's not the same as being with so many people. There were several times where I stepped out because it was pretty crazy.

Mahala was the winner of the drawing. However, I haven't heard from her so if you were at the Liberty and signed up for my newsletter, come by Doherty show (4-5 December) and let me know. If I still haven't heard from Mahala I'll give the first person from the Liberty show the $25 fused glass drawing prize.

Another reason I love shows is my fellow vendors. During the Liberty show I was next to Cindy a ceramic artist. She was amazing, beautiful, talented, and friendly. Needless to say I bought a beautiful purple mug.

I also bought candied nuts - of course I can't show you a picture of them because they were so delicious I ate them all.

---

I also did a post about my Rampart show. What a lot of fun that show was, if you want to read more about it check out the post above.

Julie was the winner of the $25 fused glass drawing. She'll have an opportunity to choose her fused glass at the Doherty show.

Just like at the Liberty show I met some fabulous vendors. First Gary and Kay, I'm standing in the check-in line and this beautiful couple is behind me so we start talking. Gary mentions to Kay about their both G18 and I'm like wait that's my booth, my booth was actually G18A. So we're in line and we're neighbors. What wonderful people they turned out to be. I went over first thing Saturday morning before they arrived to choose a piece of Artwork I wanted. I narrowed it down to 4 and then asked Dan which one we should get. I bought this amazing piece handcrafted wood painting. As you all know I'm retired Air Force and have been wanting one just like it for a while now. I hung it in my booth (see the picture - it's hanging right next to my sign) and people kept trying to buy it from me. I'm like NO go talk to Gary. Needless to say they had a really good show and it couldn't have happened to a nicer couple.

I love handcrafted art so I looked around a bit more and found Meryl who created magnificent art out of gourdes. I liked so many but I really like bears so I told her I wanted it but I've already bought something from the show and I try to limit what I buy (otherwise I'd be so broke). Anyway Meryl said no problem I'd love to trade if you wouldn't mind. So she picked out my 1 and only aspen and a nightlight and I got this fabulous gourde.

Please if you want to buy something special for someone buy from an artist. Go to your local craft show - it truly means a lot to them and it will mean much more to the person you are giving it too!

---

Thank you to all those who visited me during both my shows, whether you are an old customer or a new one - I appreciate you more than my words can express. I hope to see you at Doherty High School Arts and Craft show, 4-5 Dec.

BTW if you are one of my newsletter recipients I have a surprise for you during the Doherty show, so please tell me you get my newsletter.
