This month since my craft shows were canceled I had two home shows.  Even though I was very safe (i.e., masks, hand sanitizer, only two guests at a time, etc), there wasn't many that attended. For those who did come by we had a good time.

BTW obviously Doherty's craft fair has been canceled for December. Other than personal requests I probably won't have another home show.  If you need anything or would like to come by for something specific please let me know. But you can order from my newsletters, posts, Artfire or my Elegant Fused glass site.  Or you can email me with any requests. You can also checkout the video I made of my home show.

Fused Glass Lanterns

I love fused glass lanterns. I went a little nuts recently and made several different fused glass lanterns. I know I've written about them before but these are just so beautiful. I have 6 different type of lanterns. The first one is very unique it's in the shape of house. The panels are screened printed with copper. They are the …Read more.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My father in law has had some health issues so it was very important that we see him this year. We were cautious but we enjoyed our time together. We never went past 7 people. I love dad and it's so difficult to see him go through these healthy difficulties. We also got …Read more.

Rifle Falls, Colorado

Rifle Falls, Colorado

We went to visit Dan's family on the Western Slope for Thanksgiving. It's such a wonderful visit. The drive over and back were so beautiful. The fire by grizzly trail was horrible, it went for miles. Thank God the fire stopped before hitting Glenwood springs and the damage was horrendous. Anyway on the way home we stopped by Rifle waterfalls. …Read more.

Fused Glass Flowers

Fused Glass Flowers

I've written about my fused glass flowers a few times, but I'm so happy I finished a couple more of my fused glass flowers. The stamen are epoxied in and the center's can change out. My flowers can hang or they can sit on as a center piece. Not only that you can put a candle in the center and …Read more.

Silk Screened Pressed Pendants

Silk Screened Pressed Pendants

I've written several posts on pressing glass, it's such a fun technique. I've also written about silk screening. Well for this post I combined silk screening with pressed pendants. They are so thin, aren't they awesome. I have some more pressed pieces that I need to decide what to do with as well. I've also got some in the tumbler, …Read more.

Stained Glass Bird

Stained Glass Bird

I’ve mentioned my good friend Lela in several posts. We’ve taken several classes together including cooking, macramé, welding, lead stained glass, and this last month we took a foil stained glass class. Here are some pictures of Lela making her butterfly. I just made a little bird but I enjoyed making it. I found the foiling and soldering relaxing. Jordan …Read more.

Fusing with Coral - Birds on a Fence

Fusing with Coral - Birds on a Fence

I’ve mentioned Coral many times in my posts. Coral runs Full Spectrum in Colorado Springs. She is the person who taught me fused glass and I am forever grateful for the knowledge she has shared with me over the years.  I’ve known Coral for 15 years, she is a good friend, and I have taken many classes with her.  Even …

Commercial Soap Dishes

Commercial Soap Dishes

As I've mentioned in several times in my posts how I create custom commercial fused glass dishes. Well this month I had a great opportunity to create soap dishes for a hotel in Arizona. It was fun because I painted each one, 210 pieces. It was so much fun and a challenge. Here are some pictures of the soap dishes. …Read more.

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to include.

In October's newsletter I showed some of the perks and benefits of coming to my home show.  For this month I wanted to show some of the things we did at my shows.

---

Everyone that came by got a free pendant. They didn't  need to buy anything, it was just for coming by.

---

During the show I made pebbles, stringers, Christmas tree bases, frit, and other supplies for my customers to make Christmas tree ornaments.

Below are some of the samples I gave them to chose from. In fact one of my customers chose one of these trees instead of making one of her own.

---

We made a couple Christmas tree ornaments.

Here are the tree ornaments before they were fired.

Here are the trees after they are fired. I love how different they look.

---

Lela came over we made ornaments as well. She  made a round snow globe ornament.

Lela is an amazing painter she painted some snowman faces for me. Aren't they wonderful.

---

Lela also made a tree and I put it on a candle votive.  Another one of my customers didn't have time to make an ornament so she took one of my premade votives.

Here are a few more ornaments that Lela and I made together.

---

One of the things I love about having shows is talking with my customers. They help me pick out stamen for my flowers. They also tell me what they like and don't like. During this last show  I had a piece in my finishing room that wasn't as stable as I wanted and I had two of my customers ask me what I was going to do with it.

I showed them that it wobbled a bit and that I was going to put a base on it. Well I did add a base and I am so glad I did, I love it. I'm going to make a few more.
