Fused Glass Dotting

Fused Glass Dotting

This month I took a Mandala Glass Dotting class. I've seen dotting on rocks and wanted to see how dotting would work on Glass. Painting with dots (I just call it dotting) it's also known as pointillism and is basically making dots of different sizes with paint. Recently the types of dotting I've seen is Mandala dotting (including on rocks). …Read more.

Silk Screened Glass Butterflies

Silk Screened Glass Butterflies

Last month I briefly talked about my silk screen printing fused glass artwork. Well this month I bought a tutorial from Laurie Spray regarding how to make screen printed butterflies. I've talked about Laurie many times, she's one of my favorite instructors and I've taken several classes from her (including screen printing). The butterflies are incredible but I couldn't remember …Read more.

Beautiful Colorado

Beautiful Colorado

Recently my husband and I have been trying to take trips more often. Mainly our trips are in Colorado, (other than Westcliffe). We’ve driven by Glenwood Springs a dozen times over the years but never really stopped, so this month we stayed there. There are a couple of ways to get to the Western Slope, Hwy 70 (which sucks) or …Read more.

Fused Glass Cremations

Fused Glass Cremations

Recently I received an email from Laura regarding making a fused glass pendant with her dad's ashes inside. It's always such an honor to make custom memory pieces. I always take care and show reverence for each piece I make. Laura and I have collaborated every step of the way. First we talked about what color of glass she wanted. …

Great 4th of July

Great 4th of July

On the 4th of July, my husband and I drove down to Westcliffe, CO. We just really love Westcliffe. When I go there I don't worry, I'm really just in the moment. It's funny because we don't do anything big, but being in Westcliffe brings us joy. The drive is so beautiful and relaxing (once we're out of Colorado Springs). …Read more.

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to include.

This month I had a home show and I want to thank everyone who came to visit me. I had such a great time. This month's DYK is a quick recap of what we did during my show.

---

I had three tables set up this is the first table. The cool thing is the majority of my fused glass art work was new.  I love the versatility of fused glass.

This was the 2nd table, so many pretty pieces of glass. Here you can see my flower and hanging pocket vases and my new butterflies.

Here is the 3rd table, mostly jewelry and accessories including my belts.

---

There were also a couple presents including a pendant just for visiting me.

Anyone who RSVP'd also received a fused glass pinch mail pendant of their choice.

---

Additionally if someone spent $100 they also got to choose a silk screen dish

---

In addition to the prizes we had a lot of fun building a fused glass flower! I let everyone put the stamen and centers into the flower bases. I had 7 flowers so there were a myriad of options. Let me know which are your favorite combinations

---

Here is a rainbow flower. I see a trend with the yellow stamen.

This is my newest flower and I really like it. BTW what do you think of the clear and blue centers, they are different than my normal stamen.

I really like my fused glass flowers, they can sit on a shelf or hang on a wall.

---

This is a dark purple flower and so pretty. I do find it interesting how two of them have exactly the same stamen and centers.

I love purple so needless to say I really like this one. The bottom left has the blue center and the clear stamen.

Here is the Amber flower. *Funny story about the bottom left combination. Onve of my friends was in my finishing room and found the center bowl and the blue center bowl above. I was like where did you find them those aren't included! then I showed her why. They are very tough to make and I keep breaking them.

Here is my orange flower. Coincidentally I had several customers say I don't like orange (neither do I) but we all love this flower. Seems like we also liked the black stamen. The double stamen, in the upper right hand corner, looks great too.

There are several options for centers so it was pretty tough on everyone, but we had a blast mixing and matching.

---

We also made some pendants with decals and added a couple bails to some cabochons.

---

What a fun show, I had such a wonderful time talking with my visitors and showing off my glass. Thank you very much for your support.
