My mold for August is a Fused Glass wine rack mold. I chose a beautiful piece of glass so I didn’t change it a lot other than fused it with apiece of iridized glass which gives it depth.  The glass as aventurine green, white, purple and really amazing.                       It’s not only beautiful it’s functional.  The fused glass  wine rack can hold 4 wine bottles on the bottom then 3, then 2, then 1...

As I mentioned in that blog that the Aspen was so large (with a little extra glass), I was able to make two bowls. The second fused glass bowl I made what’s called a screen melt. I’m actually going to write a Did You Know for this month’s newsletter going a little more detail. So after I took a hammer to the the rest of the Aspen,...

I receive a myriad of questions regarding the “pictures” on my fused glass artwork. This blog will explain how the pictures / decals are fused onto the surface of a pre-fired fused glass.  I use several types of decals (including gold, color, black, white, sepia, etc.). In addition to the decals, some designs are etched on dichroic, painted on, and images, which will not be included in this blog. I will do a YouTube video on...

I also like trying new products therefore, I thought I would write a few book reviews on the various books I have purchased. Please understand this is my personal view and is not intended to offend anyone. I just like trying new things and I would like to share my experiences with others. I am not paid to write these reviews. This...

One such fused glass artist is Anne Nye. Anne creates these stunning and vibrant landscapes made with fusing glass frit. Anne also writes “Art Into Business” for D & L Glass. Of course I digress, I was reading some of Anne’s blogs and I commented on several of her fused glass...

Not too long ago I hosted home show for a local Red Hat Ladies Club. One of the members is both a friend and a customer. She asked me if I could set up a home show the ladies and give a  Fused Glass demonstration. I was happy to host the group and eagerly agreed. I’m so happy I did. They were such a wonderful group of women! The ladies were amazing  and could write books about their lives. A little nervous at first the...
