New fused glass

I wanted to have some new fused glass pieces for my last 3 shows of the year. I made some new snaps, both small and medium; I will say several sold during my liberty show.           I made some new fused glass crosses.           I made some new fused glass trees.  I like not just making them green.           I also made some fused glass brooch pins.           What I always...

Fused Glass trees

In July I made a standing tree so I thought I’d make a few more. I’m not sure if I like the face more or the traditional ornament tree. I’d love to hear what ya’ll think.           This picture shows my first standing tree (with a face),  a standing tree with ornaments, and the green with red dots is an ornament. I love that the trees are so versatile.           If you would like to see more of my...

More Fused Glass Stars

More Fused Glass Stars

In July, I made a lot of Fused glass stars and after taking Jodi’s class the first week in August I made even more. I’m not sure which are my favorites. I like the simple 5 point stars because they can be made in any color and typically take 1 firing.  The 6 pointed stars are nice too. I tried it with 2 colors too.           Jodi also taught chubby stars, some standing some hanging. I’m still working on getting my standing stars to...

Christmas in July – Candles

Christmas in July – Candles

Posted by on Jul 24, 2017 in Art, Blog, custom, dish, fused glass, handmade, Holiday, light | 0 comments

July’s fused glass newsletter focuses on holiday fused glass in preparation for my glass shows.  So for this fused glass blog I thought make a couple Christmas sconces. I made two candle sconces, ironically the design is candles.             One slumped on a smaller mold so it’s a tighter curve than the standard sconce.           In addition to my fused glass Christmas candle sconces I made a beautiful leaf...

July’s fused glass newsletter focuses on holiday fused glass in preparation for my glass shows.  So for this fused glass blog I thought make a couple of plates. I made a fused glass snowman face, it’s perfect for Christmas candy or cookies.           I also wanted to make a full fused glass snowman plate. He is quite big so he is a perfect centerpiece or for cookies.                   I...

July’s focus is holiday fused glass in preparation for my glass shows. My first show is in August in Woodland Park.  If there is something you’d like me to bring to my Shows or to put on my websites please let me know. So for this blog I thought I’d show off some of my new fused glass holiday castings. Some of the molds were CPI molds like I talked about in April’s newsletter. I made fused glass snowflakes, crosses, stars, Christmas trees, icicles,...

Fused Glass Candle Shields

Fused Glass Candle Shields

My fused glass mantle sconces are very popular so I thought I’d make some that are a little simpler and smaller. They are both made with special textured glass. I also sandblasted the back of each candle shield.  They come with a small candle and light up any space! The first one is a cute pare of bears in a stockings! The other one is peacocks! I will be definitely making some more of these!         If you would like to see more of my fused glass...

September’s Fused Glass Mold

September’s Fused Glass Mold

Posted by on Sep 7, 2015 in Art, Blog, fused glass | 0 comments

So September’s mold of the month isn’t just one mold but a concept. Typically when slumping into a mold one cuts the glass to match the mold but that’s not always the case. First with the green and red fused glass dish, you can tell the mold was much bigger than the glass, but it worked perfectly and created a great little dish perfect for Christmas and the holiday season.           The second fused glass dish you can see I added...

What an amazing year. I was able to see my son and daughter-in-law, my family and I got to drive down the west coast, I lost over 40 lbs and I had 7 fused glass shows! It has been a fabulous year and I’m looking forward to 2015. I wish you all the very best Christmas! We all have our views of Christmas – notice I call it Christmas and not the Holiday Season so that tells you my view of Christmas!  I also thought I’d let ya’ll know what...

Fused Glass Pendants, Night Lights, etc with Decals

Posted by on Nov 3, 2013 in Blog | 0 comments

I receive a myriad of questions regarding the “pictures” on my fused glass artwork. This blog will explain how the pictures / decals are fused onto the surface of a pre-fired fused glass.  I use several types of decals (including gold, color, black, white, sepia, etc.). In addition to the decals, some designs are etched on dichroic, painted on, and images, which will not be included in this blog. I will do a YouTube video on...

Halloween and Christmas Fused Glass

Posted by on Sep 30, 2013 in Blog | 0 comments

Since October is just a few days a way I thought I’d add my Halloween Fused Glass. In addition to the pendants I have on site I also have nightlights, earrings, and tie tacks (I’ll try to get them on as soon as possible).  Let me know if you have any questions. My Daughter really likes her skull earrings and I really like my witch pendant. Since Christmas isn’t to far a way I also added some Christmas Fused Glass...
