Recently I bought some amazing molds, molds that make flowers! So I filled my kiln with them and tried them out.                       After I made them I slumped a few of them, aren’t they beautiful! I have one more but I’ll do another blog about...

Which Fused Glass Bowl Did They Choose?

In January and February. I blogged about one of my fabulous customers who bought one of my handcrafted fused glass aspens and broke it. I’ve always told my customers if they break a fused glass piece that they buy from me to bring me the pieces and I’ll make them something from the remains. Well she took me up on my offer and I made 2 fused glass bowls for her to pick from.                     *BTW aren’t...

Wet Belt Sander for fused glass

Wet Belt Sander for fused glass

Posted by on Oct 17, 2015 in Art, Blog, fused glass | 0 comments

When I was at Bob Leatherborrow’s workshop in Canada earlier this year I had the opportunity to use a wet-belt sander. I must say I loved using it for the edges of bowls and plates. Bob gave us some pointers to make it even easier so I really wanted one. A couple months ago when my friend Paul retired, he offered me his for a good price, so needless to say I jumped at the chance. Of course I need to get a pump and have the plug added, but not too difficult (I hired an...

Great news. At the Woodland Park Art Festival, I had someone approach me to sell my fused glass artwork in a Denver shop. She came over last night and picked out some pieces to see if they will work in her shop. I’d love to have my fused glass in a shop so I’m hoping that it all works out. In preparation for her visit I set up one of my rooms as a fused display. What does that mean to you? Easy, if you’d like to schedule a time to come by and look at some...

My Fused Glass week in Canada part 2

Posted by on Jun 29, 2015 in Art, Blog, fused glass | 0 comments

In my last fused glass blog I wrote about how great the ladies were in my class with Bob Leatherbarrow (including Liesbeth). For this blog I wanted to talk about Bob and the glass itself. As I mentioned before, I will not provide any secrets. Bob teaches and will be writing some ebooks (starting in Nov covering these topics). First, I want to talk about the class content. We learned three different wafer techniques. As I’ve mentioned I have done wafer techniques in...

I love fused glass and I really love home shows. I just finished a small but fun fused glass home show. The ladies were so kind and listen to me talk about my passion for fused glass. We did a demo and talked about glass and the various techniques I use in my fused glass. Even  though it was a small group we still did the drawing and who won?  Denise the hostess! So with her drawing $ and her hostess gift she made out like a...

Custom Fused Glass Artwork

Posted by on Oct 27, 2013 in Blog | 2 comments

I enjoy making fused glass and I enjoy making custom fused glass. In most of my blogs, I mention I would be happy to create custom fused glass artwork.  I have created custom fused glass pieces for several people. Of course, typically I am so excited about it I forget to take pictures so what is  on my custom page is not close to what I have custom made. I made this one with a whale and mermaid (very pretty but nope no picture)!...

I love to learn about fused glass whether it is through classes (see August Blogs),  eBooks, or actual books. I also like trying new products therefore, I thought I would write a few book reviews on the various books I have purchased. Please understand this is my personal view and is not intended to offend anyone. I just like trying new things and I would like to share my experiences with others. I am not paid to write these reviews. This...

I have written about my wonderful friend Diane in several blogs. We took a boot camp from Tanya Viet last year and learned 15 different fused glass techniques, most were for fused glass platters and bowls. However, due to our daily lives we have not had a chance to create these new fused glass techniques. Therefore, over the last couple of months, we got together for fused glass dates...

Is Fused Glass Art?

Posted by on Sep 23, 2013 in Blog | 0 comments

In my August’s blogs, I discussed how I started in Fused Glass and the various Fused Glass classes I have taken. My two favorite forums about Fused Glass are my Boot Camp Group with Tanya and Glass Campus group put on by Dennis Brady. In the Glass Campus forum, Dennis started asking members their view regarding Artist, Artisan, and Craftsman. It was a fascinating string and it reminded me of my last show. A customer picked up a...
