My Painting on Glass Class with Shelley Long

I just took a great class with Shelley Long. This was my 2nd painting on glass class with Shelley. She is a fabulous teacher. I also really enjoyed the other ladies in my class. Wonderful and talented women.

The technique that Shelley taught us this time was several layers of painted pieces that will eventually fused together.

Fused Glass

This is the bottom layer and my sky! It’s painted then fired to ensure the color is set.

This are my mountains and the 2nd layer of my painting!

My 4th layer, the river was pretty tough

this is the 5th layer,

There is another layer but it’s still in the kiln. I’ll do a followup blog when it’s done.

It was a great class, it was fascinating to see how the layers go together but it’s not as easy as you would think.  I’m looking forward to doing more of the painting on glass. As I said I’ll send another blog when it’s finished, it’s going to be a beautiful piece.
