Happy New Year!  Every year I do a review of my glass activities. 2017 was a great year for me professionally, family, and in glass. I added more responsibilities at work and I love it. As far as my family life; my daughter graduated High School and started college, and of course my son told me I was going to be a grandmother and on 1 Jan I became a grandma.           I love my job and all the people I work with. Melanie is another one of my friends and amazing customers. She recently started a new job with foster children in El Paso county.  I love children and wanted to support both the children and Melanie.  So I donated over a 100 fused glass pendants. I included chains/cords and put them all in individual bags for the children and for the aid workers.           Anytime I have a show I always make sure I have fused glass pendants in all price ranges so...

In July I made a standing tree so I thought I’d make a few more. I’m not sure if I like the face more or the traditional ornament tree. I’d love to hear what ya’ll think.           This picture shows my first standing tree (with a face),  a standing tree with ornaments, and the green with red dots is an ornament. I love that the trees are so versatile.           If you would like to see more of my...

Last month I created a myriad of fused glass projects for the holiday seasons. Two that I finished recently are beautiful so I want to show them off. The first one is a very larch casted fused glass cross. It’s large and thick glass. I fused a wire loop in so it’s self hanging as well.           This next fused glass dish is a turtle shell texture. It’s so much prettier than the picture shows. It’s iridized and has so much...

July’s fused glass newsletter focuses on holiday fused glass in preparation for my glass shows.  So for this fused glass blog I thought make a couple Christmas sconces. I made two candle sconces, ironically the design is candles.             One slumped on a smaller mold so it’s a tighter curve than the standard sconce.           In addition to my fused glass Christmas candle sconces I made a beautiful leaf...
